A flexible, open application

The Knowesia R&D team has used proven Open Source technologies to develop the platform. Using these technology building blocks has ensured that Knowesia is an unusually open software platform that integrates seamlessly into the information systems used by companies and organizations. Knowesia built-in connectors make it possible to use and update data held in other information systems within the same environment.

Knowesia is supplied as a complete package containing everything required to get up-and-running, backed by deployment support from the Knowesia team.

Collaborative module

This module allows business experts to work together on project content creation. Accordingly, multiple experts may work in parallel on different procedures for the same project. Each member of the team can view the procedures that their colleagues are working on and track their progress.

Versioning module

This module gives a unique identity to all procedure revisions, drafts and changes. As part of optimizing the database and its performance, versions are saved in a format that records only the differences from previous versions. Users can revert to previous versions and run two versions in parallel. The same data is then used and there is no duplication of information. This feature is particularly useful when testing new versions of processes and projects.

Dynamic module

This module enables to progress intelligently step-by-step through the current guidance or diagnostic procedure on the basis of previous steps; to dynamically enter user information as the process is running; insert images, video and/or audio at any time; external connections using hyperlinks and retrieving data as the process is running; user feedback to the expert thus facilitating system use and comprehensiveness; to generate a structured PDF action summary and e-mail it to whoever has requested it.

Traceability module

This module tracks the running of procedures, recording time spent and frequency of use for every step. These tracking features enable activity management, analyzing deviations between actual time spent and time planned for the entire procedure and each step or process, analyzing usage frequency and instantly pinpointing the most-used and least-used paths.

Synchronization module

This module allows a user or group of users to work offline to run a process, project or set of projects and to synchronize with the master database whenever possible or necessary. Operates with slave server and its network or standalone Tablet PCs.

Security module

This module provides password management at its most basic level: creation, edit and read-only access rights. Security by domain, project and expert (by level and domain). Cross-referenced access rights for projects belonging to different domains, HTTPS security, etc.

Connectors module

This module provides the ability to initiate static and dynamic calls to web services, and to integrate with the company information system via data import/export. These connectors enable the creation of application modules focused on corporate system software, avoiding the need for specific development and facilitating evolutive maintenance.
